Muscle Stimulation

Electrical muscle stimulation is often prescribed for providing relief from chronic and/or acute post-traumatic pain, as well as for the relaxation of muscle spasm, the prevention or reversal of disuse atrophy, increasing local blood circulation, muscle re-education, and maintaining or increasing range of motion.

Massage Therapy

This form of therapy involves the movement of the skin, muscles, and tendons in order to promote a relaxed sensation and promote healing effects to specific areas of the body. In our clinic we specialize in 5 types of Massage: Sports MassageSwedish MassageTrigger Point Therapy MassageDeep Tissue MassageMyofacsial Release Massage

Chiropractic

When a vertebrae goes out of alignment, it causes irritation to the muscles and nerves around it. This in turn will cause pain, spasm and inflammation. Dr. Hoorfar uses 2 methods to re-align the spine:

Diversified method: This is a “soft” hands-on adjustment to realign the spine
Activator Method: This is a “non-force” technique using a device called the activator to gently and non-forcefully realign the spine. This method is used on patients who have so much muscle spasm that the diversified method would be painful for them or they are fearful of a manual adjustment and would like a non-force method

Ultrasound

Ultrasound, as the name suggests, is a sound wave. The sound waves travel through your skin and into your muscle. The sound waves can be targeted directly to the injured area and serve as a therapeutic tool to help heal muscle, ligament and tendon injuries.

Exercise Therapy

At Pasadena chiropractic Health Center, we teach our patients special exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your correction by as much as 30-40%. This enhances the treatment process and helps maintain healing benefits, as well as reducing the likelihood of future problems.

Traction

This form of therapy is delivered through the use of a traction table. It is a table that you lay down on that gently and specifically stretches your spinal joints and muscles allowing them to become more relaxed. This in turn allows the vertebral discs to have their normal space and therefore return to their normal position and function.
